ArtTV

ArtTV is a series of interviews, hosted by me, Hafsa H, with important artists of the present and future. I'm keen to get inside the minds of artists and find out what drives us to create and compels us to share our skills with the world. I want to bring my interviewees back to the very beginnings of their careers. I want to bring to light the hardest part of any creative's journey — the start. start. How did it happen for you? Were there miracles? Disasters? Who took a chance on you? Was it luck or careful planning? How did you prove yourself?

I'm going to demystify being an artist and show that being an artist from a working or lower middle class background is completely possible. That you can have no money or connections or education and still make it, against all odds. I want to disassemble our udeas on who should be allowed to create, and spark hope in the hearts of young inner city artists that the life they want is right within their reach. That there is nothing in our way.

There is nothing in the world i love more than a come-up story. Manchester's history is full of them. But the city has become stagnant. We're still worshipping the great artists and musicians from years passed. I want to expand our rich creative history. I want us to embrace the new generation of creatives and make room for them in our galleries, theatres, music venues and Wikipedia pages. And wallets, too. I want ArtTV to get cogs turning in the minds of our next world-famous artists.
